I like working at the scooter shop. Even mind-numbing tasks like polishing chrome bits and cleaning mirrors make me happy.

Doing it all over again

I had a bad beginning to the day so I went back to bed, slept for another eight hours and woke up again to get a fresh start. It's 8:30pm now and I just got dressed and am headed out for the night.

Freebies

I'm not usually someone who downloads a ton of music, but thankfully, Matt is. It's been wonderful re-exploring the albums of youth without any financial hardship taken to the wallet. Sometimes you need a little Duran Duran or Blue Oyster Cult.

Last night we got the Who discography, and this morning all the Snoop Dogg albums downloaded. (yeah- we were getting our club on in our PJs while drinking coffee.)

I cut my own hair again. It is vaguely faux-hawk. Also, my mom bought me a salmon-colored 80's looking track jacket. I have now firmly ventured into complete emo-scenester-whiney-loser-poseur-punk-dom.

Yes- I bought the LCD Soundsystem album
Yes- I have a myspace account
Yes- I live with my parents
Yes- I make less than $10k a year, but could probably make more
Yes- I am a college dropout
Yes- I spend more money on music and cheap beer than paying debts
Yes- I am involved in an uber-exclusive vintage motorbike club (scene points x 20)

At least it is better than being a gold-digging fake-baking bottle-blonde daddy's-money sorority-slut.

Employed

I got two jobs now. I'm working at Trader Publishing (Auto Trader, Cycle Trader, Tradin' Times, etc.) for about 12 hours a week. I'm also helping my mom's friend out at Kroger in a Starbucks kiosk for about 15-20 hours a week. I look forward to my first paychecks and being able to drive places again.

Old Age

I am not going to meetings and things because I am poor. I have $150 until now and when I get my next job/unemployment check. This is a horrendous waste of my youth. I need to get out and go do things now before I get old and arthritic.

On the hunt.

I feel weird. Half-sick, confused, stressed, don't know what to do weird.

I just lost my job out of the blue for no good reason with none of the management staff defending me at all. Yeah- so apparently they were giving me raises, more responsibility and a promotion even though they wanted to get rid of me? I doubt it. Anyways. I'm job hunting.

Yesterday night I couldn't sleep at all. My whole body was twitching. That just doesn't seem normal. I don't feel like I'm going to have a nervous breakdown, but I guess the stress of all this is getting to me physically. Subconcious mind affecting the nervous system, etc. etc.

Hopefully I will have at least one job by next week. I am still looking for another.

I went to a party last night and spent more time puking than partying. This is confusing for several reasons.
1. I ate before I drank
2. I have drank much more, much quicker on numerous occasions recently and not gotten sick at all
3. I woke up not hungover, but feeling nauseous

Maybe I was sick? Maybe I'm too stressed out and can't hold my booze?

I used to NEVER EVER NEVER throw up no matter how much I drank, and now I have nights where I'm spilling my guts after 2 drinks.

I blame the government.

Old Hag... maybe.

Old Hand
You've seen 80% of the internet, and shed 53% of the tears...

And you thought you'd seen it all!

You've been around this old internet of ours a number of times. You've seen some pretty sick stuff, and maybe you even liked some of it, but you've managed to find all the good bits and pieces. Congratulations! I bet your friends always want to know what cool stuff you're getting upto this week, and what funny new website you've found.

Are you shocked at the stuff you've missed? Have I given you enough of an inkling? I know you think the rest is garbage, but you're a little bit curious, aren't you? That Digital Underbelly... sinister... brooding... tempting... and oh, so wrong.

Don't do it! Fight against it! You'll soon lose all those friends if you get into it.

Gogol Bordello

I went out to the Royal Joke last night to see this band.

Afterwards I went to Gusoline and met Eugene and some other folks in the band. (Who did not properly introduce themselves, except for I think this kid named Justin from Flogging molly or something.)  They were hiding out from their tour manager. (Who wants to go to Grand Rapids anyways?)

I went to the beach at a local lake the other day to relax and enjoy the weather. Unfortunately, there were a herd of about 20 drunken high school kids already there. Apparently the new way kids enjoy themselves in the summer is to talk shit and throw punches at each other. Thank you Jerry Springer- this is your generation.

BBQ 11

Wow- Finally I've recovered from the weekend. Many thanks and apologies are in order. Thanks to Wayne & Andy for graciously letting everyone airsoft their house and spill beer all over it. Thanks to Bengry for driving me and my bikes out to Kzoo and putting up with all us crazy drunken moped people. Thanks to Dan & Decepticons for renting out the old '77 so I could help trash the place. Thanks to the Oak St. Market for having cold 30 cases of Pabst and super cheap liquor. Thanks to all the ladies who supported me in the carb race even though I lost real bad. Thanks to Hyper Viper for rocking out and keeping the party going. Apologies to Amish for making him so upset that he rode around drunk and crashed. Apologies to Wayne for the aformentioned airsofting and beering of his house. Apologies to all the boys I punched. Apologies to all the MFers for not being awake in the morning when everyone walked into my apartment. Apologies to Godzilla for crashing in her pad. Apologies to my moped for not keeping her clean and not buying new tires for her.

I'm sure many more thanks and apologies are in order which I will remember later. All in all, a great weekend, although I'm sure I've lost many a brain cell.

WKRP Rally Recap

I skipped out of town this weekend to party down south in the Natti. Here's a brief recap:

Friday:
I drove out to Eric's house early to get some last minute wrenching in on the Lammy. Jason joined me and we swapped out the 190 top end for the stock in about 3 hours. I split before knowing whether it made it onto the trailer or not. I picked up Heather and drove off to meet Emily to hitch a ride to Cinci. The ride down was cool, but I forgot where Chris said the Mashed Potato John the Baptist was, so I was constantly looking out for it thinking I had missed it. All the Rovers made it into town around the same time, except for Jason with the scooters, so I took off for the Comet on the back of Eric's scoot. I didn't wear my helmet, which was bad because Rachel dumped her scoot on the way back to the hotel and Eric almost had a sympathy dump. Anyways, the Comet was packed. I met Casey and Chris Rice for the first time. There were a few other mopedarmy kids there as well. Anyways- drunkeness ensued and the party continued at the hotel.

Saturday:
I stayed in Sally and EP's room and got a few well needed hours of rest and a good hot shower. In the morning, my Lammy came off the truck and decided to be nasty about starting up. Scotty fanagled it into running and we all took off to get some breakfast. Breakfast turned out to be the only food I ate all day. Upon leaving for the big ride, my scoot refused to start, so I left it. This turned out to be good luck, because there ended up being a bazillion problems with the scoot and the long ride was impossibly challenging. Scotty gave me a ride on the back of his P, and it was quite lovely except we both got insanely sunburned. The ride was 50 miles of hills, bumps, and potholes. Scooters were dropping left and right, but it was all fun. After the ride, we BBQed at the Scooter Shop. There weren't any turkey dogs, so I just drank water and ate corn chips. After the BBQ, everyone got lost trying to find the hotel. Scotty, Jack, & I got separated from the rest of the group because Jack had a flat tire. It ended up being alright because we actually made it back into the parking lot ahead of Eric & crew. Everyone rested, showered and changed for the evening shindig at the comet. I rode in the paddy wagon with Jack, John Bunkley, Danielle, Rach, Tim, et al. Unfortunately we made it to the Comet too late for free beer, but probably better for me because I got pretty drunk later in the evening. I split from the Rovers and just mingled and mixed. The Messengers played a good set although probably not enough people were watching. After the burlesque show the paddy wagon took off for the hotel, with a pit stop at White Castle. The drinking began in the parking lot and the night got crazy.

Sunday:
I actually woke up at a decent hour and made it outside just as everyone was checking out. I managed to get a little breakfast in and took off with Emily driving again. I slept the whole trip back to Detroit.

The XYLs throw a fab rally. I'm definately looking forward to going to more scooter events with the Rovers, and going back down to Cinci for the Bomb Prom.

This is my third day of being ill. It is the first time I've had the flu since I've developed my stomach problems. It's been an interesting experience. Everything I was used to was flipped upside down. I've had to deal with being extremely dehydrated and excruciating stomach pains, even when I wasn't throwing up. The fever broke pretty quickly, but I've had some problems in the past with vitamin absorbtion, so with the rice and vernors diet I've been on, I'm not getting any nutrients into the system. I think this would explain why I've been acting like a nutcase. I hope my brain really didn't get fried by the fever. I couldn't imagine being crazy forever.

I went to the healthstore to get some tea today and stopped into Dearborn Music to apologize for not being able to work. I was smiling, rambling, and generally not standing up very well. I think they all thought I was on drugs. Now I have to go explain that I was really just loopy from the fever. I still can't walk straight, but I drove OK because I had Nick escort me.

I got sick. Don't know if it's the flu or just food poisoning. Yesterday I ran a fever over 100 all day. It finally broke around the time Letterman was on, then I started sweating. I woke up in the morning and stank worse than ever. YUCK! Thank goodness for bubble baths.

Every one has been out riding today and I want to go too.
